Story of You Display

Story of You

Story of You explores what happens when two strangers meet.

A portrait was taken at the beginning of each conversation, before we really knew one another. We then talked, finding common ground, sharing stories and sometimes disagreeing, before making a second portrait at the end.

The question was simple: does that connection change how we see one another, and can we see it in the photograph?

The project continued beyond the people who stopped for a portrait. The two photographs were displayed back-to-back in revolving frames, inviting the public to physically spin between the images, look closely and decide for themselves whether they could see a difference.

This made curiosity part of the work. You didn't need to have your portrait taken to participate. Simply looking, comparing and questioning what might have changed made you part of the conversation.

Each participant received a printed copy of their portraits, giving them something tangible to take away from the exchange.
