I'm a socially engaged portrait photographer based in Sheffield, making work about people and the communities they're part of.
My work is with charities, community organisations and people who might not always get the chance to tell their own story.
For me, the photograph comes second to the person. I want to understand who I'm photographing, listen to them and give things the time they need. Sometimes that means talking for a while before I even pick up the camera.
I want people to feel comfortable enough to be themselves, rather than feeling they have to perform for a photograph.
More than anything, I want someone to leave a shoot feeling seen and understood and proud of who they were in that moment.
